The Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM), Jaffria Alliance and Shia Ulema Council (SUC), Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) and civil society organisation Muttahida Shehri Mahaz on Sunday organised three rallies to condemn the suicide attack on the worshippers in Shikarpur and to mourn the death of over 61 members of the Shia community who lost their lives in a terrorist attack on Markazi Imambargah Maula Ali in Shikarpur a day earlier.
Many participants wore black armbands and beating their chests. More than 400 people joined these three rallies. Shops remained closed in Shia-Miani area. The region of South Punjab witnessed widespread protest rallies organised by various religious, political and nationalist parties as well as social organisations.
