Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Sindh Police on Tuesday claimed to have killed a notorious criminal during an "encounter" near Aziz Bhatti Park. According to ACLC SSP Irfan Bahadur, a car was signalled to stop during a snap checking near Aziz Bhatti Park, but the driver tried to flee and when the police chased the car, the occupants started firing. The police retaliated; as a result one of the suspected criminal Sunaro, son of Gul Hassan, sustained bullet injuries, while his three accomplices managed to flee.
The injured succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC). Police also claimed to have seized a 9mm pistol, fake electronic media cards and a snatched car having registration No AZG-323.
Police claimed that the suspect was a proclaimed offender and wanted in 40 car snatching cases. He belonged to inter provincial car lifter gang. Meanwhile, ACLC also arrested a member of car lifting gang namely Amir, son of Ghulam Khatian, during a snap checking at Natha Khan Railway Phattak and seized a snatched car and a pistol from his possession. The accused was also a proclaimed offender and wanted in 10 cases of car snatching and other heinous crimes.
Similarly, the police also arrested a suspect Arif Hussain, son of Parwar Khan, in an injured condition after an encounter within the limits Joharabad police station. Police also claimed to have recovered a Mehran car and weapon from his possession.
