Chinese company keen to set up power generation project using LNG

Leading Chinese Company Sinohydro showed it's interest in setting up a project of power generation through use of LNG. A delegation of Sinohydro called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Shari, here on Tuesday and expressed interest in setting up project of power generation with LNG. Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said that steps are being taken to overcome energy crisis being faced by the country.
He said that government has adopted an effective strategy for power generation through gas, coal, solar and other sources while efforts are also being made for low-cost power generation. He welcomed the interest of the Chinese company in setting up LNG-based energy project in the province. Special Assistant Azmul Haq, Additional Chief Secretary and concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
