Skill and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development of any country. They have become even more important given the increasing pace of globalisation and technological advancement that is taking place in the world, said Mian Iqbal Hassan, President of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), while delivering his speech at the concluding session of a two-day workshop jointly organised by the Pakistan Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (PITAC), Asian Competitiveness Institute (ACI) and MCCI.
He said that efficient and good managers play a role for the progress and prosperity of their institution. He said that managers with higher levels of skills adjust more effectively to challenges and opportunities of globalisation. Renowned facilitator and trainer Hassan Haider said PITAC provides short-term intensive training courses in different fields and disciplines, these are designed such that the supply side responses are perpetually in sync with the demand side impulses both from domestic engineering environments as well as international markets. Thus PITAC courses are relevant and in tune with demands of the marketplace and our approach is one of the practical on the job training and usage of the latest machinery and software.
