The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) has expedited the ongoing operation in 14 districts of Sindh to ensure 100 percent recovery of its outstanding dues and elimination of electricity theft. The operation was launched on the directives of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Salim Jat.
As many as 85 illegal connections have so far been disconnected in the areas of Qasimabad including Ali Nangar and Domina Goth. Apart from this, the connections of 118 villages and 43 tube wells have been cut due to non-payment of dues in various areas of Nawabshah, Sakrand, Saeedabad, Kazi Ahmed and others.
According to details, during the operation in Hala sub-division, the electricity of four villages was cut and more than Rs 4.67 million was recovered. Similarly, power supply to 36 villages was disconnected and a recovery of Rs 14.90 million was made from areas of Nawabshah sub-division.
In the same way, 20 connections of Society Areas were also disconnected, while an amount of Rs 5.89 million was also recovered from there. Besides, the electricity of 14 villages in areas of Dor was cut and a recovery of Rs 95,3000 was made. Aside from this, the connections of 15 villages of Sakrand and six connections in areas of Saeedabad were disconnected, while an amount of Rs 9.67 million and Rs 1.97 million was recovered from the areas respectively. In addition, the connections of 15 villages and 43 tube wells in Kazi Ahmed were disconnected, while an amount of Rs 3.76 million was recovered from other areas. It is pertinent to mention here that the operations were carried out after expiry of the seven-day notice issued to defaulters.
