Malam Jabba Ski/Chairlift/Hotel Resort: TCKP claims transparent bidding of project

Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) understands that impression of favouritism in case of Malam Jabba Ski / Chairlift / Hotel Resort in a section of media is not only incorrect rather baseless.
TCKP in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment & Trade (KP-BOIT) and Sarhad Development Authority (SDA) have advertised the project on 3rd March, 2014. Seven interested parties responded and the bids were placed before a high level committee headed by the Additional Chief Secretary.
These proposals were scrutinized by a sub-committee headed by MD-TCKP with a composition of KP-BOIT, SDA and Finance Department representatives. The Sub-committee in a series of meetings scrutinized the bids and finally short-listed three (03) firms fulfilling the required criteria laid down in the Advertisement. On the basis of report of the sub-committee all three firms made a presentation to the committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary. All three firms have applied for whole project comprising three (03) components including Ski / Chairlift / Hotel. Highest offer amounting to Rs 12 million was of M/S Samson Group of Companies Lahore and awarded the project to the Co. The Project has been awarded in a transparent manner and purely on merit. The project is to promote tourism in the region besides providing job opportunities to the jobless youth.-PR
