Baldia factory fire case: public prosecutor steps down

The special public prosecutor in the Baldia Town factory fire case, Shazia Hanjra, on Monday separated herself from the case on security concerns and sent her resignation to the government. Speaking to reporters here Monday, Shazia maintained that she did not have the support of the investigating officer and could not continue the case further. Hanjra said that she had submitted her resignation to the Law Ministry. Shazia had been assigned as Special Public Prosecutor to the case by the Sindh government in 2012.
