Nur Centre for Research and Policy (NCRP) organized a Strategy Dialogue for the development of a Maternal Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) Knowledge Portal here on Thursday. The Strategy Dialogue was organized to bring together key experts from the field of MNCH to assess the needs of the stakeholders and discuss strategies for acquiring the right information to develop MNCH Knowledge Portal.
The participants fully endorsed the concept of a Knowledge Portal and appreciated the efforts of NCRP. Furthermore, the participants shared valuable insights from their experiences in the field of MNCH and helped identify gaps that could potentially be filled with the introduction of a subject specific knowledge portal.
While addressing the participants Dr Zahida Sarwar, Additional Programme Director, Policy and Strategy Planning Unit said, "There is a need for evidence based plan which can be met through this portal."
The meeting was attended by Dr Mumtaz Esker, Senior Advisor Marie Stopes Society, Sarfraz Kazim, Dr Nisar Cheema, Technical Advisor USAID along with other key government officials from concerned departments as well as experts from WHO and the private and non-profit sector. NCRP will conduct more Strategy Dialogues in Islamabad and Karachi for participants from Sindh, KP, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and Azad Kashmir.
