The Sindh High Court's additional registrar has referred to court a Rs 5 billion defamation suit filed by Muttahida Qaumi Movement against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan when the latter failed to respond after a lapse of two years. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had sued the PTI Chairman for allegedly defaming and maligning the MQM chief, Altaf Hussain.
MQM leader, Dr Farooq Sattar had filed the suit, submitting that Imran Khan had hurled allegations against MQM chief and accusing him of his involvement in the murder of PTI leader Zehra Shahid. MQM leader said that it had sent a legal notice to Mr Khan but he did not respond. He added after consultations with legal advisors, the party decided to file a defamation suit against PTI chairman.
