The Development Working Party of the Punjab government has given its approval to construction of nine sections of Multan Metro Bus at the cost of Rs 31 billion. The Multan Metro Bus project, the third in the country was approved in the 36th meeting of the PDWP of the current year presided over by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Irfan Elahi.
Provincial Secretary P&D Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry, members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretary concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting. According to spokesman for P&DD, the approved sections of Multan Metro Bus included:
1. Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-I: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the Major Intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No 6, Chungi No 9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No 14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk, approximate length=18.5 km (Package 1:Bahauddin Zakaria University to Chungi No 6, length=5.625 km) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 6145.44 million,
2. Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-I: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the Major Intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No 6, Chungi No 9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No 14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk, approximate length=18.5 km (Package 2: Chungi No 6 to Fish Market, length=3.475 km) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 4916.69 million,
3. Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-I: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the Major Intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No 6, Chungi No 9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No 14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk, approximate length=18.5 km (Package 3:Fish Market to Chungi No 14, length=1.171 km) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 2806.37 million,
4. Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-I: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the Major Intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No 6, Chungi No 9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No 14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk, approximate length=18.5 km. (Package 4: Chungi No 14 to BCG Chowk and segment of Vehari Road, length=2.581 km) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 3410.41 million,

Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-I: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the Major Intersections Of Northern Bypass, Chungi No 6, Chungi No 9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No 14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk, Approximate length=18.5 km (Package 5: Vehari Road to Chowk Kumharan, length=5.464 km) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 3805.56 million,

Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-1: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the major intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No 6, Chungi No 9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No 14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk, approximate length=18.5 km. (Package 6: BZU to Chowk Kumharan, length=18.52 km) at the cost of Rs 4238.70 million,
7. Construction of Multan Metro Project, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Operation & Maintenance of Escalator & Elevators (Revised) (Package-7) at the cost of Rs 1826.87 million,
8. Construction of Multan Metro Project, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, operation & maintenance of Solar Street Lights Generators and Platform Screen Door (PSD) (Package-8) at the cost of Rs 1582.92 million,
9. Construction of Multan Metro Project, Bus Depot & Command and Control Center (Package-9) at the cost of Rs 2195.000 million.
