Partly Facetious: Jaats ruled under Musharraf

"So would the one who ushered in real democracy stand up?"
"What's this in aid of?"
"Everyone, but everyone in this country reckons he or she is the real democrat. I just want to separate the real from the fake democrats."

"Well, the people of this country should be aware of who is the real democrat?"

"Well, granted that even dictators like Musharraf claim that he brought in real democracy to Pakistan, no doubt referring to the local bodies elections during his time which are still pending in all the provinces since 2008 right but the fact that he got himself elected from an electoral college that was led by the likes of the Chaudhry Jaats..."
"But they too ruled with Musharraf."
"They ruled under Musharraf."
"And your point is that they would not have ruled under Nawaz Sharif had they remained loyal to Brothers Sharif?"
"Ah, good point. Anyway the Khanzadehs are different you know, they are true democrats..."
"Look as long as the party leader reckons people vote for all those he grants a ticket to, or in other words only he has the vote bank and no one else does decisions are unlikely to be taken democratically within the party."

"Because five years of a democratically elected, though certainly not democratically governed Pakistan has changed the voting patterns of our cities. And Nawaz Sharif and company may realize this to their own detriment in the next elections."
