The Royal Palm Monthly Medal Golf Session turned out to be an occasion for a battle between Asadullah Khan and Irfan Raja in the 13 to 18 handicap category and a heated tussle between Faisal Sayid and Omer Ehsan Dar in the zero to twelve handicap group here at the Royal Palm Golf course.
Although, there were 60 other strong contenders on the golf course those in the limelight were Faisal Sayid, Omer Ehsan Dar, Asadullah Khan and Irfan Raja. This 18 holes competition developed into a duel between Faisal and Omer and over the 18 holes each one managed impressive drives off the tees on the par fives and par fours and followed up these drives with crisp and accurate hitting off the fairways.
At the end of the 18 holes, the winning scale tilted in favour of Faisal Sayid who emerged victorious by a margin of just one stroke. Omer Ehsan was tenacious, yet he lost the medal and had to be content with the runners up position. Faisal had a score of gross 79. In the gross contest in the handicap category 13 to 18 the outstanding one turned out to be Asadullah Khan and Irfan Raja. Asad played steadily and equally accurate and steady was Irfan Raja.
At the conclusion, however, Asad won the first gross and Irfan Raja won the runners up prize. In the other events, the winners of honours in net section in handicap category 13 to 18 turned out to be Kashif Gillani (first net) and M. Ashraf (2nd net). In the handicap category zero to 12, Haris Naseer won the first net while Hamid Sharif came second.
