The Lahore High Court here on Thursday sought report from the federal government by March 3, in response to an application seeking directions to hold senate election through show of hand. The court directed to the federal government to inform whether it was holding the election by show of hand or not.
Petitioner Muhammad Azhar Siddique advocated filed the application in his pending petition for non-implementation of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution during the scrutiny in the Senate elections. He said the government should ensure free, fair and transparent senate election.
