Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Thursday urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to expedite the utilisation of existing development budgets allocated under Annual Development Programme (ADP). QWP leader feared that like the previous financial year, the funds would lapse if the money was not used. "Most of the departments have used a meagre amount of money on the uplift works," he maintained.
Sikandar Sherpao criticised the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf-led provincial government, saying it failed to deliver its pledges. "The working of even a single department couldn't be improved in the last almost two years," he pointed out. The QWP leader said that the PTI hoodwinked the masses with catchy slogans. He said the provincial government could not give any relief to the poor people let alone launching any mega development project.
He said that the slogan of change was a ploy to reach the corridors of power. He said the rulers were least bothered to address the grievances of the people from the down-trodden segments of the society. "No tangible steps have been taken to mitigate the sufferings of the Pakhtuns, who have been exposed to untold miseries," the QWP leader lamented.
Junior Sherpao said his party workers would take to the streets if the route of the Pak-China Economic Corridor was changed. "We will not compromise on the rights of our people and will not allow anybody to usurp their rights," he vowed.
