The Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer inaugurated the first international office of the Asian Fire Service Association (AFSA) at Emergency Services Academy here on Saturday to enhance capacity of the trainers, revising curriculum of training, and strengthening mutual co-operation between the AFSA of United Kingdom and Rescue 1122.
The AFSA's Fire Instructor/ Technical Expert Keith Trotter and AFSA's Secretary General Yasmeen, Deputy Director (Training) Dr Farhan Khalid and other officers were also present on this occasion. While addressing on the occasion, Dr Rizwan Naseer said that the Emergency Services Academy welcomes the establishment of AFSA's international office. He said that the step has been initiated to enhance emergency services capacity to review the curriculum of the training wings, suggest necessary addition and to enhance practical skills of the rescue instructors. Emergency services have unfortunately been neglected in the developing countries, he added. He said, "This AFSA office will work as a focal point between Emergency Services Academy, Pakistan and association, while AFSA will be able to enhance future collaboration with other regional countries."
