An alarming surge in cases of robberies, burglaries and motor vehicle thefts, negates the tall claims of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police pertaining to controlling criminal gangs last month. Police sources said that the main reasons behind the rising incidents of car lifting, robberies and other crimes is due to ineffective patrolling and more concentration by the high ups of police on special duties. Sources said that a number of gangs of robbers and motor vehicle thieves are active despite tall claims of police for comprehensive security arrangements. Talking to Business Recorder a number of residents from different areas of the city said that they feel insecure on rising robberies and auto-theft cases. They said that the city police have completely failed to protect lives and property of the citizens.
