Salt Range near Motorway: chief minister Punjab approves setting up of special economic zone

Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved the project of setting up a special economic zone and a new city in Salt Range near motorway. Approval was accorded at a high level meeting here on Monday, which was presided over by the Chief Minister.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the proposed project of establishment of special economic zone and a new city will prove to be a milestone in the promotion of industrial, economic and trade activities. He directed that immediate steps be taken for the practical implementation of the proposed project. He said that services of prominent international consultant should be acquired and necessary work be initiated immediately. He said that implementation of the proposed project will result in job opportunities to lakhs of people.
Chairman Planning & Development gave a detailed briefing on the project. Provincial Minister for Industry Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq, Minister for Housing Tanvir Aslam Malik, Member Provincial Assembly Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Chairman Planning and Development, concerned secretaries and senior officers were present on the occasion.
