While hearing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan's plea, the election tribunal on Wednesday ordered verification of votes in NA-122 constituency through the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The PTI chairman in his petition had requested that record of NA-122 was not thoroughly verified and it was not cleared in the report either rigging took place in the election or not, thus, the record should be verified from the Nadra.
PML-N leader and NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq's lawyer argued that NA-122 vote bags were reopened and re-count was also carried out therefore there is no need to get votes verified by Nadra. Meanwhile, the tribunal ordered Nadra to verify NA-122 votes. Election tribunal also accepted PTI candidate Shoaib Siddiqui's request and directed Nadra to verify PP-147 as well and present a report within 30 days.
