Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan Friday has felicitated the successful Senators and expressed hope that they will play their positive role in bringing about meaningful legislation to strengthen democracy and ensuring supremacy of constitution for the betterment of the country. He said we can strengthen our political identity by empowering the democratic institutions. He termed the senate elections as triumph of the political forces and the victory of democracy.
While congratulating the newly elected senators, the Governor said the members of Provincial Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa showed their honesty and political spirit with the parties and their voters by adhering to the party decisions and voted freely for the candidates of their own parties. He expressed hope that they would play their effective role for strengthening of democracy in the best interest of the Nation.
Governor said, with the senate elections the country would witness the new dawn of progress, prosperity and political stability. He expressed his pleasure over the win of two senators of PML-N from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said this was the evidence of trust and confidence on Prime minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif showed by the representatives of the people from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Asad Qaiser has extended heartiest congratulations to the Senators-elect of the Senate polls. In a felicitation message to the newly elected Senators, the Speaker, KP Assembly said that after election to the upper house of the parliament, big responsibilities have been put on them. He expressed the hope that the Senators-elect will utilise their all energies on the development of the nation and country and welfare of the people. He also expressed good wishes for them.
