Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were unchanged in the southern US Plains on Friday and farmer selling was minimal as K.C. wheat futures hovered near 4-1/2-year lows, grain merchandisers said. At 10:50 am CST (1650 GMT), benchmark K.C. May hard red winter wheat was up 3 cents at $5.20 per bushel. Temperatures were warming up in the Plains following a cold spell, with weekend highs expected in the 60s Fahrenheit (15-20 Celsius) in Wichita.
