The Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued notice to the federal government and the election commission for March 11 in a petition seeking removal of president and prime minister of Pakistan for postponing Senate election in FATA. Petitioner a citizen Munir Ahmed through his counsel Azhar Saddique submitted that by stopping senate elections in FATA, there would be no representation of FATA in Senate which is against the constitution.
He said president at the eleventh hour; advise Prime Minister (PM) to change voting method of the FATA and kept them out of the election process. He said the PM and the president violated their constitutional oaths and they should be removed from their offices. The court after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length asked the election commission and the federal government to submit their replies.
