Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Tuesday passed 'The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Officer (Regularisation of Services) Bill 2015'. With the passage of the bill the services of as many as 533 contract/adhoc doctors (BPS-17) in the province were regularised with immediate effect. This figure includes 503 Medical Officers and 30 Dental Surgeons who were appointed on contract/ adhoc basis against vacant post in various public sector hospitals during the year 2011-13.
The Provincial Assembly in its session held here on Tuesday with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair unanimously passed the bill tabled by senior Minister for Health Shahram Tarakai with necessary amendments proposed by various MPAs.
