As many as 10 people died while 519 were seriously injured in 664 road traffic accidents reported at Rescue 1122's Provincial Monitoring Cell (PMC) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. According to data provided by the PMC, 281 drivers, 32 underage drivers, 123 pedestrians and 383 passengers were among the injured persons.
According to statistics 138 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 136 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 76 RTAs in Faisalabad with 91 victims and Gujranwala at third position with 44 RTAs and 50 victims. The details further showed that total 787 persons were affected by road traffic crashes including 634 males and 153 females. According to the data, 524 motorbikes, 88 auto rickshaws, 81 motorcars, 43 vans, seven passenger buses, 37 trucks and 85 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
