The Board of Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences, University of Karachi in its meeting here on Tuesday has approved a 12 credit hours course for specialisation in Mega cities Management. "This course is the first of its kind being offered by any public sector university in Pakistan.
This course would focus to develop an understanding of the mega cities issues, their future and an overview of a comparative study of mega cities around the world," Dr Khalid Iraqi, Dean, Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences told after the Board's meeting.
He hoped that this course would address main issues of the mega cities, especially Karachi, where a clear understanding of issues can support effective and efficient management of issues having direct impact on the lives of the citizens. He appreciated the support of the vice chancellor for taking measures for the improvement of the quality of higher education by introducing such new courses.
