Jamaat-e-Islami Central ameer, Siraj-ul-Haq on Tuesday welcomed the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's decision to endorse the nomination of Raza Rabbani as Chairman of Senate. "We appreciate the decision of Prime Minister to have consensus on the name of Chairman Senate." JI chief said while addressing a gathering at Haripur. He urged Prime Minister Sharif to take rival Tehreek-e-Insaf on board to end the ongoing political chaos in the country. "PTI should be given the option of deputy chairman senate to bring them back in the Parliament," he added.
JI chief said that his party will launch a public contact campaign from April 5 to end status quo. He said the party would take stand at every forum to resolve issues of masses. He said their campaign would be countrywide to end the system of injustice. He said the government should fulfil its commitment to constitute a judicial commission to probe the allegations of rigging in the 2013 general elections.
"We want change in the existing system", Haq said. He added the states-quo politics must be ended. For this purpose, he added the party movement would be launched, which could be extended to town, and village. He said the campaign would be conducted on larger scale across the country, through which people would join in his party.
JI chief said he will make struggle for provision of relief to people and replacement of existing oppressive system. "We will talk right of poor masses and ideology of the country", he said. He said the Election Commission of Pakistan did nothing to bring about electoral reforms and the committee constituted for the purpose did not take any solid step.
