Terror incidents in KP register 78 percent decrease

The incident of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the current year 2015 has registered considerable decrease. During the current year 2015, 30 number of incident as compared 134 numbers of incidents 2014 showing 78 % decrease as far as modus operandi is concerns there is a decreased in all sorts of incidents.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province which has been badly affected by IED has shown an improvement in the first two and half month period. During current year 2015, 12 incidents of IED as compared to 70 in corresponding period of 2014, the incidents of suicide in the current year 2015, 01 as compared to 05 in corresponding period of 2014, the Incidents of VBED in the current year 2015, 0 compared to 02 in corresponding period of 2014, the incident of Rocket missiles in the current year 2015, 0 as compared to 03 in corresponding period of 2014, the Incidents of Hand Grenade in the current year 2015, 04 compared to 18 in corresponding period of 2014, The Incidents of firing in the current year 2015, 12 compared to 35 in corresponding period of 2014.
During the current year 2015, 35 numbers of persons were killed and 62 number of person injured, whereas in 2014, 179 umbers of persons were killed and 437 numbers of persons were injured.
During the current year, one major incident of terrorism took place. This incident occurred in Imamia Masjid Hayatabad Peshawar. During Investigation, the accused along with group have been identified and under investigation. The Counter-Terrorism Department KP which was established last year is playing a major role in the arrest of the militants with the help of intelligence agencies. The department has also succeeded in tracing out number of cases of terrorism, extortion, and kidnapping for ransom. The IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has lauded the role of DIG CTD and has also awarded commendation certificates to officers performing outstanding job.
Search & Strike Operation is being conducted in the entire province in pursuance of National Action Plan 5620 numbers of operations conducted 14776 numbers of suspects have been detained. During the operation arms 4324/ammunition 153575 and 346.22 Kg explosive has recovered.
