Pakistan-India series intact; Holland, Nepal and Ireland willing to tour: PCB chief

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Pakistan and Indian cricket teams will play six cricket tournaments in the next eight years, PCB chairman Shahryar M. Khan said.
Talking to media personnel here Wednesday, Khan said, Under the MoU signed between the PCB and the BCCI, India and Pakistan are scheduled to play 12 Tests, 30 ODIs and 11 Twenty20s spread over six series in eight years. Indian authorities are stick to the agreements, he said. He said the current Indian government's attitude is relatively better, and the first home series between the two countries will be played in December 2015 in UAE. "We hope India's junior cricket team will also visit Pakistan," he said.
Shahryar said that during his visit to India, he could not meet the BCCI head Jagmohan Dalmiya due to the latter's illness, however, he said he had positive discussions with him over telephone. During talks, resumption of cricket between the two countries was discussed, he added. He further said Netherlands, Nepal and Ireland are also willing to tour Pakistan soon.
In an interview, Khan claimed that Pakistan will be touring India in the year 2016. He said, "Cricket has an important role in building relationships... and sports and politics should be kept separate." He confirmed that India will visit Pakistan at their new home, the UAE, for a bilateral series in December 2015. When asked if India will visit Pakistan for a series in the near future, he said, "I hope so," he replied.
