Students of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology would participate in design, build and fly contest in the United States to be held in next month, university officials said here on Friday. Briefing media about the competition, they said the contest will be organised by American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), scheduled to be held in Tucson, Arizona, from April 10 to 12. The contest is sponsored by the American Cessna Aircraft Company and Raytheon Missile Systems.
The contesting teams from all over the world first submitted their written report to AIAA. Only those teams have been declared eligible whose written reports were accepted. They were informed to start necessary preparations for participating in the contest, officials said.

"It was the result of the valuable guidance of the GIK Institute academia and hard work by the team members," team leader Humbal bin Usman said.
