Provincial Chairman of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao welcomed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decision to probe the alleged rigging in the Senate election. Sikandar Sherpao appreciated the ECP decision to bring all record and boxes of Senate election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by March 20, in order to probe the allegations of rigging.
In a statement issued here, he said "we and other Parties had raised this objection that votes were being smuggled out and subsequently our objection was proved correct when at the time of counting blank papers came out of ballot box." The ECP decision of today to start probing into the allegation will introduce much needed transparency in the Senate election. He hoped the ECP will get to the bottom of this issue. He said that this was a test case for judiciary to uphold transparency and fairness in election.
