After successful negotiations 100 more reluctant families of Badhber, a suburban locality of Peshawar agreed to administer polio drops to their children. Next two-day anti-polio immunisation campaign is scheduled on March 16 and 17, 2015 and for its success the district administration held a Jirga with the refusing residents at Police Station Badhber.
Addressing the jirga, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Riaz Khan Mehsud urged the parents for administering polio drops to their children for protecting their children from disability for life and pays no heed of negative propaganda. He also quoted the religious decrees issued by religion scholars and grand cleric for removing the reservations of the parents.
The Deputy Commissioner on this occasion also answered questions of the parents, which was followed by formal negotiations. After the successful round of negotiations, the parents agreed and presented their children before the Deputy Commissioner for administering polio drops to them. On this occasion, 100 families administered polio drops to their children and also announced extending full co-operation to administration in future immunisation campaigns.
