The Lahore High Court here on Friday issued a contempt notice to the Punjab government treasurer for not paying arrears to pensioners. The court also sought a report till March 20 on the implementation of an order regarding these arrears. The complaint cell will be closed following its failure to redress the pensioners' grievances. The court verdict came as the pensioners from different departments of the Punjab government, had filed petitions against non-payment of arrears.
