Women University in Mardan: KP chief minister seeks comprehensive feasibility report
Seeking a comprehensive feasibility report for setting up a Women University in Mardan, the KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed the authorities concerned to review the project properly. He said that if there are any impediments in progress on this project they should be removed in co-ordination and collaboration with concerned departments.
KP CM issued these directives while presiding over a high level meeting here on Friday regarding the affairs of Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU), and proposed Women University in Mardan. KP Minister for Education, Muhammad Atif Khan, MPAs from Mardan Iftikhar Mashwani, Zahid Durrani, Ubaidullah Mayar and Jamshed Mohmand, Additional Secretary Higher Education and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The affairs of AWKU and establishment of Women University were discussed in detail during the meeting and certain important decisions were taken in order to remove hurdles to complete both the projects. Khattak directed the Higher Education department to review the feasibility of Women University in every aspect and submit a comprehensive report so as to move forward on the project. Referring to problems relating to land acquisition affairs of the Women University, he said, identification and acquisition of land is the job of Revenue department therefore, he added, the university and concerned departments should have carried out this job at their own.
