The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued contempt of court notices to Chief Secretary, Secretary Land Utilisation Department and Member Land Revenue of Sindh over illegal sale of 350 acres of Clifton beach in Karachi. A two-member bench led by the Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk resumed the hearing of identical petition filed against allotment of 350 acres federal government land worth Rs 350 billion.
Expressing his dismay over the allotment, Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk said that the Sindh government has allotted the said land in violation of a stay order of the apex court. The bench also sought a reply from the Sindh government for illegal allotment of 100 acres of land on Super Highway and 20,000 acres of land in Hyderabad on the next date of hearing.
