General Manager Punjab Irrigation & Draining Authority (PIDA), Chaudhry Khawar Nazir has said that farmer organisations should expedite the work of receipt of abiyana so that target of 100 percent receiving of abiyana could be completed by June 30.
He said this while presiding over a departmental meeting at his office here on Tuesday. General Manager (Operation) Malik Muhammad Tariq, Deputy General Manager (Administration) Afzal Anjam Toor, Deputy General Manager (Operation) Mian Abdul Rasheed, Deputy General Manager (Social Mobilisation) Syed Shaiq Hussain Abidi and field officers were also present on the occasion. The meeting reviewed receipt of abiyana.
Chaudhry Khawar Nazir said that PIDA officers should provide necessary assistance to farmer organisations set up in their respective areas for receipt of abiyana so that funds could be made available for running canal system. He said that hundred percent receipt of abiyana is indispensable for meeting the expenditures of canal management.
