President Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Rashid Ahmed Siddiqui has said that efforts should be made to increase two way trades and bring business community of Pakistan and China further closer. Speaking at a reception in honour of Vice Consul General of China Dr Mu Yong Peng, he said that Pakistanis respect Pak-China relations and Pak-China economic corridor would be a milestone in economic progress of the country.
There is enormous potential in energy sector and Chinese companies should come forward and invest more in this sector, he added. He said Chinese co-operation in strengthening Pakistan defence sector is commendable. Dr Mu Yong Peng said that China and Pakistan are great time-tested friends. Both countries have been committed to develop closer bilateral relations and further broaden their economic engagement for achieving common development. Chief Executive of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), S M Muneer said that investment in power generation will help to boost economic activities in the country.
