The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted more time to Federation to file a reply in response to pleas against proceedings of Special Court trying former army chief and President Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution due to personal engagements of counsel.
Retired Chief Justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar, the then Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and the Federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid approached the IHC against Special Court's order of November 21, 2014 through which the concerned authorities were asked to include the names of all the three persons in the high treason case. The IHC had barred the Special Court from further proceedings in the matter after issuing notices to respondents for replies.
On Thursday, appearing before a single-member bench of Justice Athar Minallah in the case, Additional Attorney General for Pakistan sought more time to submit a reply in the matter on grounds of personal engagements of lawyers pleading the current case.
