Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran urged the authorities to encourage and use talented people for the development of country. He was addressing ACCA Scholarship Award distribution ceremony at Hailey College of Commerce on Friday.
In his speech to the ceremony, Dr Mujahid Kamran said around 750 verses of the Quran, which is 1/8th of the Holy Book, directed man to study the mysteries of the universe and carefully observe the nature. He said the Muslims had made almost no contribution to the creation of scientific knowledge during the past few centuries which was the major reason for their weakness against the onslaught of knowledgeable nations. He said the real difference between the advanced and backward nations lay in the mastery of knowledge of the former. He said HCC had produced renowned personalities who had served the nation.
ACCA Pakistan Head Sajeed Aslam said all stakeholders ought to play their role to enhance the economy and that HCC was an excellent platform for learning. He said that through positive thinking, "we could fight challenges being faced by the country". Dr Hassan Mobeen Alam said the Hailey College and ACCA Pakistan were collaborating to improve the curriculum of commerce so that students in the near future could play a positive role for the economy.
Faisal Azeem said giving scholarships to the students of Punjab University was an honour for ACCA Pakistan.
