Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday approved the summary of budget for the establishment of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). The department will recruit at least 2,500 personnel.
In accordance with the apex committee's decision the CM has passed summary of allocation of budget for establishment of the CTD. The department has been allocated a budget of more than Rs 5 billion. As many as 2,500 personnel will be recruited who will be given modern counter-insurgency training.
Moreover, budget for purchasing modern weapons has also been passed. The CTD will also be provided with a helicopter for which at least Rs 1.5 billion have been reserved while budget of at least one billion rupees has been approved by the CM for the CTD office.
