A solo painting exhibition "Colours of Punjab" by famous artist Salim Ansari will open here at Jharoka Art Gallery on March 24 (Tuesday) as a part of activities to mark Pakistan Day. The Lahore-based artist, who has to his credit a number of solo and group exhibitions, will showcase his work through portraying the different colours of Punjab.
Salim Ansari said, "My water colours are not just a record of facades, but of time, where the buildings and activities assume an aura of their own and become a symbol of culture and life."
"The run down balconies, quaint, dusty bazaars, as well as some vestiges of Mughal grandeur all evoke nostalgia for a way of life that has vanished into the mist of time".
Salim Ansari is a graduate of National College of Arts (1995).
