Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has reportedly reaffirmed his resolve that Karachi, a city of teeming millions, will be made a crime-free city and the ongoing operation will continue to achieve this objective.
"We are going ahead without being deterred by the incidents happening there. The crime rate of extortion and kidnapping is falling down in the city," the Prime Minister was quoted as saying by media reports. That Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is fully alive to the criticality of law and order in the country's financial and economic capital is a fact that has found its best expression in his resolve that the Karachi operation will continue till all the objectives associated with the anti-terrorist and anti-extremist operation in a city that constitutes country's economic backbone are achieved. It is good to note that both civilian and military leadership are on the same page insofar as peace of Karachi is concerned.
