Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Khawaja Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt said on Sunday that the people belonging to various walks of life have hailed the announcement of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the construction of the Sialkot-Lahore Expressway. This mega project hopefully will be accomplished in three years and it will reduce the travelling distance to one hour between Sialkot and Lahore, he said.
Talking to Business Recorder at the Pakistan Muslim League House, he said the completion of expressway will open new vista of industrial development and ensure better travelling facilities to the common man. The PML-N government was making strenuous efforts for overcoming the energy crisis on priority basis and in this regard the federal government under the directives of the Prime Minister work on several projects was underway, he said.
The Special Assistant stressed upon the business community of the area that they should concentrate on enhancing the export volume as desired by the Prime Minister, adding that the government will extend full support to exporters.
Meanwhile, general public, including females, had also welcomed the steps taken by the government for overcoming the energy crisis and commitment to purge Karachi from kidnappers, target killers and extortionists.
Expressing her views Miss Nighat Aslam said the operation will surely decrease the graph of crimes and the government will be able to restore peace in Karachi. It is also heartening to note that the government was taking drastic steps for adding 10,000 MW electricity in the national grid by the end of 2017, she said. Nighat appreciated that the PML-N government was actively considering bring down the electricity tariff to facilitate the common man across the country. Whenever the PML-N came into power its leadership worked for the betterment of the people, ensuring transparency and development in infrastructure and social sector, she said.
