BAP’s Siraj Raisani, 19 others killed in Mastung blast
At least 19 people, including Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Siraj Raisani, were killed in a bomb blast near the party leader's convoy in Mastung, district of Balochistan.
According to local media reports, the blast occurred near the convoy of Raisani, who is critically injured. The BAP was returning from an election meeting when the blast took place near his convoy. Raisani is running for elections from PB-35 in Mastung.
This is the second blast in the same day, while the third one in the past week that have targeted election campaigns. All the three bomb attacks, two in Peshawar and one in Balochistan, targeted three separate rallies and convoy of different parties.
On Friday morning, a blast in Bannu killed four and injured more than 14 people. The blast was targeted at the convoy of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) leader Akram Khan Durrani, however, he remained unhurt in the blast.
Earlier in the week, a blast occurred in Peshawar that took the life of Awami National Party's candidate Haroon Ahmad Bilour among more than 20 people. The blast also injured 66 people who were present for the party’s corner meeting.
