83 shopkeepers fined in Karachi

The divisional and district administrations of Karachi have challaned 83 shopkeepers and imposed fines of Rs 109,500 for overcharging and profiteering. During the crackdown, the administration fined 37 milk sellers, four fruit sellers, 15 grocers, 21 chicken sellers, five vegetables sellers and a meat vendor, said a press release here on Monday.
The crackdown against profiteers was carried out in the areas include Liaquatabad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, New Karachi, Murad Memon, Model Colony, shah Faisal, Saddar, Aram Bagh, Civil Line, Garden, Jamshed quarter, Gulzar Hijri, Orangi town, Baldia town, Landhi, Airport, South, Central, West, East, Malir and Korangi.
