Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday expressed his deep condolence over the death of Lee Kuan Yew, former Prime Minister and the founder of modern Singapore. The Prime Minister, in his message, said that he was "deeply saddened" by the demise of Lee.
He said Lee Kuan Yew was a true statesman who transformed Singapore from a small port city into a wealthy global hub. The Prime Minister said Lee Kuan Yew had a charismatic personality and was a highly able and determined leader. He said Singapore was still a country with Lee's imprint visible everywhere. The Prime Minister also extended condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Singapore who have suffered a great loss following the Lee's death.
