Turkish Ambassador S Babur Girgin met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday to discuss matters of mutual interest, the relations and promotion of co-operation in different sectors. The chief minister said Pakistan and Turkey were bound together in strong historical and friendly ties and the hearts of the peoples of the two countries beat together and that several Turkish companies were investing in various sectors in the Punjab and the friendly ties were turning into useful economic relations.
He said Turkey had supported Pakistan and the Turks had assisted Pakistanis in the times of natural calamities such as floods and earthquakes. The ambassador in turn said Turkey attached importance to its relations with Pakistan and co-operation between the two countries would surely increase in the future.
