FBR starts drafting parameters to select returns for audit

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started drafting parameters to select income tax/sales tax returns for audit with regard to Tax Year 2014. The FBR has issued instructions to the field formations here on Friday, seeking proposals of Large Taxpayer Units and Regional Tax Offices on the audit parameters.
According to the FBR, the Board has directed the Chief Commissioners in the field formations that draft parameters for selection of returns for Tax Year 2014 may be submitted by March 30, 2015.
In order to frame parameters, three committees headed by Chief Commissioners of three Large Taxpayer Units (LTUs) have been framed: First committee would be headed by Chief Commissioner LTU, Karachi (Chairman/ Chairperson). Members of the committee would be Chief Commissioner RTO-I, Karachi, Chief Commissioner RTO-II, Karachi and Chief Commissioner RTO-III, Karachi.
The second committee would be headed by Chief Commissioner LTU, Lahore, (Chairman/Chairperson). Chief Commissioner RTO-I, Lahore, and Chief Commissioner RTO-II, Lahore would be members of the committee.
The third committee would be headed by Chief Commissioner LTU, Islamabad, (Chairman/Chairperson). Members of the committee included Chief Commissioner RTO, Islamabad and Chief Commissioner RTO, Rawalpindi.
