Directory of taxpayers to be published by April 10: finance minister tells National Assembly
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday said that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) would publish a directory of taxpayers, including members of Parliament, by April 10 this year. The Minister made these remarks while speaking on the floor of National Assembly. He said international financial agencies have declared that Pakistan's economy is back on track and it has made significant progress during the last few months.
While referring a report, he said that IAB in its report said the government has managed to turn around the economy after social disturbance in the mid of last year. He also said that Moody's has declared Pakistan's economy from stable to positive due to its sustainable foreign currency reserves and stability of its bonds in international market.
The minister said that due to improvement in macroeconomic indicators, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development has also allowed Pakistan to deal with it for any loan. The Finance Minister said the Steering Committee on promotion of Islamic banking has presented its interim report, while it has sought time up to December 31 of current year to present a final report in this regard.
He also informed the House that all differences on the formation of judicial commission to investigate vote rigging allegations and hoped the commission will be formed shortly. He thanked all political parties for removing differences on formation of the Commission.
