Use of weapons: Swat police training schools' watchmen

Swat Police has started imparting the training of the use of weapons to watchmen for provision of public sector schools of the district. In first phase over 1000 watchmen were given formal training of the use of weapons and making targets. The initiative was started in the wake of Army Public School (APS) tragedy in Peshawar. Expert team of police is imparting the training.
During the training beside the use of Kalashnikov and other weapons, the watchmen are also given the training of firing so they could battle any unpleasant incident in future.
The DPO said that so far 1000 watchmen have been trained while 700 more will also be provided training.
