A petition in the Lahore High Court has challenged the non-party Local Government elections being held in the Cantonment areas. Petitioner Azhar Siddique said the court had already declared this sort of elections unconstitutional, and that Section 14 of the 2002 Cantonment Local Government Ordinance denied political identity to elected representatives of the local government.
