Power generation policy, oil and gas matters IPCC meeting may be convened soon
A meeting of the Inter Provincial Coordination Committee (IPCC) is likely to be convened shortly to consider power generation policy 2015 and oil and gas matters, it was reliably learnt.
Sources told Business Recorder that IPCC meeting to be held under the chairmanship of Minister of Inter Provincial Coordination Committee Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada would also consider government of Balochistan proposal for allocation of grant-in-aid 2013-14 & 2014-15 in favour of Public Sector Universities (PSUs) in Balochistan. The meeting would also take up the proposal of Ministry of IPC proposal with respect to situation analysis of the population welfare programme.
The meeting would also consider a government of Sindh proposal regarding federal government to exceed the limits for the increased tax in respect of professional tax, government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reciprocal application of domestic tariff to streetlights of local bodies and SCARP tariff on the drinking water supply tube wells of local bodies and PHE department. The KPK government has also submitted proposal for non-acceptance of token tax paid in the province by other provinces to the IPCC for consideration.
Government of Balochistan has submitted proposal regarding grievances concerning exuberant hajj charges, inadequate arrangements and role of hajj tour operators in Balochistan. Government of Punjab has submitted proposal regarding non-payment of interest amount by Pakistan Steel Mills, Karachi-reference PAC directive on para 43 and44, page-77 of audit report for the year 2006-07.
